Thank You to Our Funding Partners & Sponsors
Thank you to our funding partners and sponsors who support the important work we do at ATTCH Niagara. We could not do the work we do without your support. Below are some of our current and past fundraising partners. We are so grateful for your generosity!
ATTCH Niagara Receives Funding support from Niagara Community Foundation through the David S. Howe Grant
ATTCH Niagara is grateful to announce that we have received funding from the the Niagara Community Foundation, David S. Howe Grant to support the delivery of trauma-specialized therapy in Niagara. This funding will also allow us to pilot some on-site community based programs for hard to serve populations to address barriers to treatment that have been observed. We are grateful for the support of the Niagara Community Foundation and look forward to more ways to provide innovative trauma-specific support within the community.

ATTCH Niagara is grateful to announce that we have received funding from the United Way Niagara which will allow us to launch a new waitlist management program to support clients awaiting treatment and a new aftercare program to support clients who have completed treatment transition out of therapy.
The waitlist management group will be an ongoing open group available to waitlist and current clients that would offer weekly skills building sessions focusing on teaching core grounding, stabilization, containment, and resource installation skills. Although the majority of stabilization occurs through the treatment itself, we do anticipate this will allow clients to come a little bit more grounded into treatment and provide them some resources to utilize as they are waiting for therapy and help some of our more complex clients in active treatment receive some additional support to reinforce / supplement their healing.
We have also identified a need for an after care transitionary support as we are approaching treatment completion and following treatment completion. The goal of this aftercare program would be to provide additional supports focused on connecting to community (resources available, other clients who have completed healing); increasing embodied awareness, deepening connection to and awareness of sense of self (discovery of who they are in absence of their trauma through providing exposure to self care practices such as music therapy, expressive arts, yoga, dance and movement, mindfulness, meditation, neurofeedback, somatic awareness training, bio feedback, general interest activities etc).
We are so very grateful to be able to provide these much needed services and thank United Way Niagara for providing the funding that will allow us to do so!

St. Catharines, ON – In 2021, Attachment and Trauma Treatment Centre for Healing (ATTCH) Niagara received a $39,000 Resilient Communities Fund grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation to help rebuild and recover from the impacts of COVID-19. This funding allowed ATTCH Niagara to install two openable windows, providing fresh air and improving circulation in counselling offices for the comfort and safety of clients and staff. Many of ATTCH Niagara’s clients have required in person sessions during the pandemic as they do not have access to technology, internet or a safe private space to meet. This renovation allows clients and therapists to conduct their sessions safely, even amidst the pandemic.
“I believe firmly that mental health is health care, so I take great pleasure in seeing the province financially support an organization that helps bridge community members affected by trauma with services to support them,” said St. Catharines MPP Jennie Stevens. “This work is important because it creates spaces that provide support for individuals to rebuild and recover from the impacts of COVID-19 and beyond.”
This support from OTF also helped ATTCH recover from the impacts of COVID-19 by supporting staffing costs, providing access to secure tele-health platforms, and rejuvenating wellness programs with online wellness resources for staff and therapists. ATTCH Niagara is very thankful for the Ontario Trillium Foundation’s support and is pleased to let supporters, staff and clients know about this generosity in our communications.
ATTCH Niagara’s Board Chairperson, Gail Richardson, said, “the support of the Ontario Trillium Foundation, especially for a new organization like ours which has seen dramatically increased referrals due to COVID-19, has provided a significant benefit for marginalized people in Niagara who are experiencing complex mental health issues.”
ATTCH Niagara’s mission is to provide free and low-cost, attachment and trauma-specialized therapy in a safe, structured manner to disadvantaged individuals and families to promote better mental health. Their vision is to promote health through the provision of free and low cost attachment and trauma specialized treatment with a focus on holistic wellness and preventative care (early intervention) to facilitate healing.
The Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF) is an agency of the Government of Ontario, and one of Canada’s leading granting foundations. Last year, nearly $112M was invested into 1,384 community projects and partnerships to build healthy and vibrant communities and strengthen the impact of Ontario’s non‐profit sector. In 2020/21, OTF supported Ontario’s economic recovery by helping non‐profit organizations rebuild and recover from the impacts of COVID‐19. Visit otf.ca to learn more.

Thank you to Victoria Dobson for completing a program evaluation of our Integrative Trauma and Attachment Model (ITATM) ®. Thank you also to Dr. Paul Frewen, Western University Hospital for acting as our consultant / principal investigator. The results reviewed the progress of 50 adult clients. A variety of standardized measures were used to evaluate change. Overall the findings demonstrated clinically and statistically significant changes. This is not to say everyone is fully recovered at the completion of treatment as we are working with complex trauma and as such there are no easy solutions. However these are outcomes that are very realistic of a complex trauma population and demonstrate that there is benefit to the treatment being offered.

ATTCH Niagara is grateful to share a new sponsorship being generously offered through @pretty_and_co. This will allow children, youth, and adults of all ages to access leading edge and specialized trauma therapy regardless of income, which would often be a barrier to doing so. Our referrals for free and low cost therapy have quadrupled over the past year so this is a much needed and most welcomed support! You can learn more and purchase products here: https://preveu.ca/. Please share with anyone who may be interested in this product line and supporting the work we do while also supporting local small businesses.
